UCM Open Evening

by isleofman.com 31st October 2017

Following the success of last year’s first Open Evening, The University College Isle of Man (UCM) is once again inviting the public in to the main College campus to find out more about the wide range of courses available and to see for themselves its first-class teaching and learning environments.

UCM’s Principal, Jo Pretty: ‘We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people who came last year and who commented favourably about the extent of our curriculum and the facilities available to our students; in-fact many said they had no idea we did so much!’

UCM offers a wide range of qualifications and study modes. Courses as varied as BTECS, engineering and craft apprenticeships, sports diplomas, and A levels can be accessed at the College. Students can also study for higher education qualifications at UCM, giving students the opportunity to gain a degree whilst living on island.

The Open Evening is on Tuesday November 7th, 4.00pm – 7.00pm. Information and advice will be available on all the courses run by the College, including recreation and leisure classes and those designed for employers wishing to develop their workforce.  Teaching staff will be on hand to answer questions about course content and to explain also the different modes of study: full time, part time, evenings for example.

Jo Pretty said: ‘I would encourage parents and carers to bring their young people and take the opportunity to find out what’s available at the College, so they can make informed educational or vocational choices. I look forward to welcoming visitors on the evening.’
