On Saturday afternoon, 21st October, Peel and Douglas Fire Stations were mobilised by the Emergency Services Joint Control Room to reports of a kitchen fire at a property in St Johns. The occupants had isolated the appliance concerned before evacuating the property and awaited Fire Service attendance.
On arrival the Officer in Charge of the first appliance quickly ascertained that the fire had been confined to the appliance and was out on arrival, crews checked the surrounding area using a Thermal image Camera to ensure that there were no hidden hot spots.
Crews were in attendance for approximately 35 minutes.
