Isle of Man Railways regrets to announce that owing to engine failures there will be a reduced timetable on the Steam Railway for the next 5 days.
Trains on the 19th, 21st, 22nd & 23rd October will depart Douglas at 09:50 and 13:50 returning from Port Erin at 12:00 and 16:00.
The train on 20th October will depart Douglas at 09:50 travelling only as far as Castletown and returning at 10:27. The train will then leave Douglas at 13:50 traveling to Port Erin, returning at 16:00.
Head of Operations Ian Bates explained: ‘The cancellation of services is something we very much regret and is the result of two of our engines (No12 and No13) suffering from boiler problems.
‘We anticipate the trains will be back to normal service from 26 October. Updates will be posted on our Facebook page IoMTransport and Twitter feed @iombusandrail. All valid rail tickets will be accepted on bus services between Douglas and Port Erin. We apologise for any inconvenience to passengers.’
