Grant Thornton named Employer of the Year

by isleofman.com 18th October 2017
Grant Thornton has been named Employer of the Year by the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB).

The prestigious award has been won by the network, which Grant Thornton Isle of Man is part of, for the third time in four years.

Dennis McGurgan, Managing Director of Grant Thornton Isle of Man, said: ‘We’re always proud to be part of a worldwide network and it’s exciting that Grant Thornton is recognised in the market for its particular focus in the last few years on its employees at member firm and at global level. In the 2020 strategy we have the objectives of being the most recommended firm for clients and employees. The network aims to achieve this through several initiatives but in particular through transformational leadership and what is referred to as ‘people experience’, which aims to put people at the heart of everything the network does.’

At the awards, held in London, the IAB also recognised Grant Thornton’s Women in Business report with the Thought Leadership Initiative of the Year award and global CEO, Ed Nusbaum, won the Lifetime Achievement award.

The recognition of Ed Nusbaum comes at a poignant time as he is retiring at the end of the 2017 after eight years at the helm of Grant Thornton International. Under his tenure, the network has seen increases in global revenue of 33%, global headcount of 55%, network membership of 26% and the number of offices increased from 529 to 733.
