by isleofman.com 17th October 2017

The Department of Infrastructure and other agencies dealt with approximately 100 fallen trees across the Island from approximately 15.00 to 23.00 hours yesterday evening.

A number of road closures were in place due to coastal overtopping, Douglas Promenade, Gansey, Castletown and Fenella Beach Peel.

The Mountain Road was also closed due to high winds from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa.

The following roads remained closed overnight:-

Saddle Road – Ballaughton Manor Hill to Vicarage Road, currently blocked with two fallen trees

Tromode Road – Vicarage Park to Douglas Avenue, currently blocked by fallen tree

Mount Rule Road – Closed between Ballamillaghyn to Mount Rule Junction , currently blocked by fallen tree and Manx telecom overhead lines and pole

The Department would like to thank all concerned for their efforts.
