LJ Partnership, the London-headquartered private wealth partnership, has promoted Mark Veale to the role of Managing Director of its expanding Isle of Man Trust & Administration team. This is in recognition of the contribution he has made to the Isle of Man operation over the past 18 months in his previous position as Director and Head of Client Services.
LJ Partnership supervises in excess of $14bn of assets (including $4.5bn in real estate assets) on behalf of individuals, family offices, foundations and charities.
As well as its Trust and Administration division, LJ Partnership provides direct investment and investment management services. LJ Partnership is regulated in the Isle of Man by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority as a trust and corporate services provider.
In addition, two further new roles have been created within the Isle of Man operation as part of the expansion of Mark’s team. Adam Greenwood has been appointed as Finance Director and Sophia Birchall as Head of Compliance. Both these new roles will be predominantly Isle of Man based but will also provide operational and financial support to the other offices within the Trust and Administration division.
Mark has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services, fiduciary management and administration sectors, spending the past 17 years specialising in the offshore fiduciary sector. He is STEP qualified.
Prior to joining LJ Partnership, he headed up the Trust operation of a respected independent firm Kreston in the Isle of Man, holding leading positions in their client services divisions.
Mark commenced his career with RBS Group before moving into Trust and Administration with Barclays Private Bank & Trust.
His experience includes managing property owning structures; traditional wealth ownership structures; as well as administering trading companies and their activities. Mark holds the STEP diploma in International Trust Management.
Adam Greenwood has substantial financial accounting experience in banking and Trust and Administration and was previously Chief Finance Officer and Company Secretary at ICM Group on the Isle of Man. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Management Accountants.
Prior to her appointment at LJ Partnership, Sophia Birchall worked since 2011 for Northern Wychwood Trust Limited an independent Trust and Administration business based on the Isle of Man where she was also Head of Compliance. Between 2008 -11 she spent three years at Barclays Private Bank and Trust (IOM) Ltd, where she was responsible for administering a portfolio of complex, high net worth trust and company structures.
Sophia is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries and Administrators, a member of STEP and is about to complete her qualification as a member of the International Compliance Association.
