A talented performer from the Isle of Man has started an intensive training course at a prestigious theatre school, supported by management consultancy and business mentoring firm Auxesia.
Georgia Maddocks, a regular on stage at the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas, has won a place at the London School of Musical Theatre (LSMT). She was one of just 43 students to be enrolled in the one-year Musical Theatre Course from more than 750 applicants.
Douglas-based Auxesia is supporting Georgia throughout her studies, with financial assistance to help her meet the costs of attending the course and living in London as well as pastoral support, advice and guidance.
Auxesia helps businesses at different stages of development to identify improvements and better ways of working so they can grow and succeed. With a panel of expert mentors, Auxesia offers a wide range of consultancy services, with an emphasis on partnership and support to help businesses flourish.
Director Stuart Colligon said: ‘Our support for Georgia is about more than just handing over a cheque and wishing her good luck. Just as we do with our clients, Auxesia is offering Georgia any advice and guidance she’d like during this exciting time studying in London, and beyond as her career blossoms.
‘She has proven herself to be a star in many productions in the Isle of Man, and to win a place on such an exclusive course shows she has the determination, commitment and skills to succeed. Auxesia takes pride in enabling people to realise their potential, and we’re pleased to give Georgia this support.’

Georgia, 19, has performed in many leading roles in Isle of Man productions, including The Mistress in Evita, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar, Nancy in Oliver! and The Narrator in Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her ambition is to have a career in musical theatre, and this course is the next step.
During her year at the LSMT, Georgia will receive training in singing, drama, dance and performance, as well as opportunities to appear in school productions, which mirror the demand experienced by professionals in a West End show.
Georgia, from Douglas, said: ‘This is an incredible opportunity for me, and I am so grateful for Auxesia’s support. The financial assistance will go towards covering the cost of college dancewear, footwear, sports gear, music and acting materials, travel and household essentials in my student accommodation. Having that backing allows me to focus more fully on the course, and making the most of this opportunity.

Auxesia is committed to supporting Isle of Man community initiatives and helping talented residents follow their dreams.
