The Department of Economic Development will be attending Excellence in Gaming (EiG) this year with strong support from local companies Capital International, Equiom, Sure, Domicillium and KPMG.
Jonathan Mills, Director of e-Business at the Department of Economic Development (DED), commented:
‘The Isle of Man has made several important changes for e-gaming in the past year including the abolition of network licence fees for B2B gaming operators which has made us probably the most attractive jurisdiction in the world for large scale operators with global ambition. We have a strong proposition for a thriving global e-gaming industry and this year’s EIG is set to be a productive event for the Isle of Man.
‘I’m also delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Ure, the Department’s new Head of e-Gaming, who will be joining us at EiG this year. Tony has extensive global experience in launching and running multiple products and platforms for all aspects of Casino and Poker operations. I’m confident Tony’s abilities will have a positive impact and influence on the Island’s e-gaming sector.’
Greg Ellison, Chief Executive Officer at Capital International Group, a stand partner with the Department at EiG, commented:
‘EIG comes at a very exciting time for Capital International. We’ve been working with the DED and Isle of Man Government to support the gaming sector for many years now with our treasury services in particular. We are also in the process of applying for a 1(2) banking license under the Island’s new Alternative Banking Regime and all being well hope to go live around Summer 2018 which will mean we are able to support the sector with a much wider range of services, a leading edge digital banking platform, transparent charging structure and pragmatic, local decision making.’
EiG is one of the leading events of the e-Gaming calendar, attracting over 2,000 leading iGaming brands, starts-ups and operators to Arena Berlin for the three day Expo.
This year the event will focus on how to bring industry to the next level of intelligence, take advantage of new technology, products and concepts whilst considering what this means for legacy systems.
