Castletown based Fiduciary and Pension provider Optimus hosted a unique networking breakfast event last week at Rushen Abbey for a group of private client professionals who visited the Island as part of the launch of Private Client Dining Club.
The event saw a mixture of lawyers, tax advisers, wealth managers, private bankers and property professionals attend. All deal with high net worth individuals and are looking to establish new relationships within the Isle of Man financial services industry.
“Having sponsored a table at the inaugural evening event, the opportunity arose to host an informal networking event for selected guests in the morning. Rather than host the event in an office or conference room, I contacted Manx National Heritage to see if there were any sites available so guests could experience some of the fantastic Manx heritage we have on offer on the Island. We are very grateful to Rushen Abbey who were delighted to host the event and show our guests around the historical site afterwards.” said Tim Shallcross, Head of Business Development at Optimus, “Surprisingly, a lot of the advisers had never visited the Island before, so this was a perfect opportunity not only to outline how we as a firm can work closer with them but also to promote the Isle of Man as both a jurisdiction of choice and place of natural beauty. It was really encouraging to hear that the majority of people said they are definitely going to visit again and feel there are real business opportunities on the Island.”
The Private Client Dining Club (“PCD), operates across London, Switzerland, The Channel Islands and now the Isle of Man with events also being planned in United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Australia.
“The club is aimed at bringing together private client advisers dealing with high net worth individuals and providing a platform for them to network and ultimately do business” said David Bell, Founder of PCD, “We brought over 50 advisers from the UK who have an interest in developing new business relationships with Isle of Man providers and I’m grateful to Optimus for hosting such a great event in the morning prior to our evening club dinner where 100 attended”
