Cyclist who died in fatal collision named

by isleofman.com 9th October 2017

The cyclist who died following the collision on the Poortown road yesterday has been named as 43 year old Matthew McSevney from Peel. He was married with two children.

Information at this time indicates that the car and bicycle were travelling out of Peel towards St. Johns when the collision occurred.

The driver of the car was an 18 year old female who stopped at the scene of the collision. She was spoken to at Police Headquarters as part of investigations into the collision.

Police cannot comment on the cause of the collision at this time and would continue to ask that the public do not speculate about this on social media. If you were a witness please contact us on 631212.

The Isle of Man Constabulary will continue to provide the family of Matthew with support and our thoughts are with them at this time.
