by isleofman.com 9th October 2017
The Claremont Hotel in Douglas has been awarded the title of Isle of Man’s Leading Hotel 2017 by the World Travel Association, the fourth year in a row it has received this prestigious global accolade.

The news was announced at the World Travel Awards Europe Gala Ceremony in St Petersburg on 30th September 2017, held in the historic Marble Hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography and attended by leading figures from the European travel industry.

World Travel Association awards are voted for by travel and tourism professionals, as well as business and leisure visitors, and are considered a hallmark of quality. They reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel industry, with winners judged to be the benchmark to which others aspire.

Claremont Managing Director Mark Wilson said: “We are thrilled to receive this award again and to be recognised once more for our ongoing commitment to make the Claremont the number one choice for visitors to the Isle of Man.

“Earlier this year, following a further ?750,000 investment into our facilities, we unveiled a new second generation of executive business suites which have been very well received by guests.

“This was the latest project in a rolling programme of upgrades which will continue into 2018 to ensure our hotel meets the high standards expected by today’s international travellers.

“Awards such as this do not just recognise the quality of accommodation alone though and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for the excellent and welcoming service they provide that adds so much to our visitors’ experience.”
