The Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, is investigating the suitability of the regional structure of the IRIS Scheme, with particular reference to the remaining sewage works.
The Committee was due to hear oral evidence on 26th and 29th September from Mr David Jones and Dr John Orme respectively. The Committee has decided to postpone these sessions because it has received substantial written evidence from Mr Jones which needs to be put before the Manx Utilities Authority. The Committee has therefore decided to change the sequence of public oral evidence so that the Manx Utilities Authority will give oral evidence before Mr Jones and Dr Orme.
David Jones’ written evidence will be published today on the Tynwald website.
The Committee has also identified the Raggatt leachate as a serious issue that will form an additional separate strand of inquiry.
The Committee was established by Tynwald in October 2016. The Members elected to the Committee are Mr Rob Callister MHK (Chair), Miss Clare Bettison MHK, and Mr Chris Robertshaw MHK.
