Manx Telecom has joined the ranks of Team Champions for the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association’s 2018 Games.
The Island’s leading communication solutions provider is providing essential funds to help Team Isle of Man attend the Games in Gold Coast, Australia. This is the latest sponsorship to be supported by Manx Telecom and joins other sporting events including the Parish Walk, Tough Mann, End to End Mountain Bike Challenge and Team Manx Telecom road cycling club.
In addition to the sponsorship, Manx Telecom’s online news service, MTTV, will be with the team in Australia to provide footage and interviews during the Games.
The sponsorship was announced while the Queen’s Baton Relay visited Manx Telecom’s shop on Strand Street in Douglas.
Manx Telecom’s CEO Gary Lamb said: ‘We’re excited to be a sponsor of Team Isle of Man as they represent the Island on the international stage at the 2018 Games in Australia. Our Island has a fantastic sporting culture which Manx Telecom is proud to be a part of. We’re really pleased to be able to help the Association with key funding in the run up to the event and through sharing the stories and successes from the games via MTTV.
‘We’re looking forward to seeing how our Manx athletes perform next year and I’m sure that knowing that the whole Island is behind them will give them an extra boost.’
Basil Bielich added: ‘We are delighted to welcome Manx Telecom as a Team Champion, without the kind support of these local companies Team Isle of Man wouldn’t be able to represent our Island at the Games.’
Manx Telecom joins Auxesia, EscapetheRock.im, Paysafe, Skanco and SMP Partners as Team Champions.
