Michael Heritage Trust treated to slide show of images of the North West of the Island

by isleofman.com 18th September 2017

Moira and Tommy Cashen from Andreas entertained Michael Heritage Trust members at the Ebenezer Hall last Wednesday.

It was a terrific evening, as dozens of 35mm slides of photos taken in the North West of the Island were shown.  The banter between the knowledgeable presenters was outstanding, which contributed to the success of the event.  It was possibly the longest session ever arranged by the Trust, but no-one would have complained if we could have continued.  Aircraft at Jurby, the Kirk Michael windmill, early TT pictures, people and places in Sulby, the nurseries built by Kelly Bros. during WW2 and Royal Visits were just a small section of the slides shown.

Hopefully Tommy and Moira will return in the future, with another collection of slides and memories.

The next event arranged by Michael Heritage Trust will be their annual exhibition in St. Michael's Hall, on 28th and 29th October.  As 2017 is the 20th anniversary of the Trust, the exhibition will celebrate a selection of exhibits from previous years.  Events are open to all, though the Trust encourages anyone with an interest in Michael Parish to become a member.

It only costs ?5 a year - the same as it did 20 years ago!

Membership forms are available; you can leave a message on tel. 878328.
