The number of registered unemployed at the end of August 2017 was 393.  249 of which were male and 144 were female.  This registered unemployed figure for the month is the lowest August figure since 2004.

There was a decrease of 27 persons on the register between July and August.  144 signed on to the unemployment register and 171 left.

There were 986 job vacancies notified to the Job Centre, during the month of August 2017, with 597 still remaining at the end of the month.  73% were full time and 27% part time positions.
