Mayor’s charity committee supports Housing Matters

by isleofman.com 11th September 2017

The Mayor of Douglas Debbie Pitts’s charity committee have shown their support for Housing Matters and Isle of Man Foodbank by donating food and household items to the two Manx charities.

Councillor Pitts explained: ‘We hold regular meetings of the mayoral charity committee so decided that to recognise the work Housing Matters and Isle of Man Foodbank are doing to support those in housing or food crisis, we would ask committee members to donate non-perishable items each time we met. So far we have collected four boxes of items which the mayoress and I were pleased to present to the Housing Matters team. We’re also working with the charity on another fundraising project for later in the year, in addition to our campaign to raise money for our two nominated charities, Rebecca House and Dot’s Dream Foundation.’

Housing Matters is the fulfilment agency for Isle of Man Foodbank.
