Albany Tennis Club News

by isleofman.com 7th September 2017

The work party planned for last Sunday had to be postponed due to the awful weather.  So we are looking for helpers/workers this Saturday and also Sunday from 11am. This is to carry out court cleaning which cannot be done professionally. You can get a bit wet so you will need wellies and old clothes!!

Please let Bryan know if you intend coming - contact 861497 or e-mail albanyltcpr@manx.net.

Entries for the club 's junior championships, sponsored by Auxesia Ltd are slowly coming in but it would help the organisers if this process could be a lot quicker. Entries close on Tuesday 12 September at 7pm.  You can put your form in the club's white post box or e-mail ianwatsonpts@manx.net.

Have any of our lady members any spare knitting wool they no longer need? If so I would appreciate it as I continue to knit sweaters, scarves, hats and mitts for one of the charities the club supports - Friends of Chernobyl's Children.

I mainly use DK wool and knit items for the younger siblings of those that visit the club each summer ie baby to 7years If you have any to donate it can be left in the kitchen. There will be more update on various events to be held at the club during the next few weeks ie - The Todmorden Shield  doubles competition between Albany, Castletown and Ramsey, the Albany/Chrystals Senior Open, the clubs senior closed championships, junior and mini tennis coaching.  Watch this space and also look at the club's informative website.
