Staff from Browne Craine raises ?4,000 for Cancer Research UK

by isleofman.com 1st September 2017

A team of staff from Browne Craine & Co (“Browne Craine”) have raised over ?4,300 for Cancer Research UK after part-taking in the Isle of Man’s 24-hour Relay for Life event on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August at the National Sports Centre.

The Relay for Life is a year-round fundraising challenge bringing communities together to beat cancer. There are over 50 Relay for Life events happening across the UK, and thousands more round the world. During the event, teams, survivors, carers and volunteers come together to take part in a 24-hour Relay for Life event to celebrate their fundraising. Teams set up camp and take turns to walk around the track through the night.

Team Captain Amy Killip commented: “Our team was absolutely amazing and I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for all their efforts over the last couple of months and of course, during the big 24 hours! We laughed together, we cried together, but the whole experience brought us together and made us one big team. It’s a very humbling experience when you see how many lives this terrible disease has affected. I was really proud to be part of the team and on behalf of us all, I would like to thank the organisers for making this year another fantastic event.”

Browne Craine Staff Director, Craig Mitchell added: “I’m proud of the team on so many levels, not only for raising over ?4,300 for charity but for their sheer determination on sticking at it, even through the night when everyone was so tired. Some slept more than others (team joke!) but everyone pulled together and really tried their best. Cancer Research UK is a fantastic charity so I’m glad we were able to take part in this wonderful event for a second year. I’d like to say well done to the team once again.”

The Browne Craine Relay team raised ?4,335.21 and would like to thank every single person who donated in some way.
