First Names Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Hessing as Director, Corporate Services in our Luxembourg office. The appointment is effective immediately.
With over 21 years’ international experience in the US and Luxembourg, Robert specialises in private equity and corporate real estate transactions. In his role at First Names Group, he will be working closely with Andrej Grossmann, Head of Corporate Services in Luxembourg, and will lead a service delivery team focusing on private equity and real estate clients in Europe, UK and USA whilst also focussing on business development opportunities.
Robert is qualified as an attorney in The Netherlands (University of Leiden, 1993) and holds an LLM degree (2004) from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Before relocating back to Europe in 2013, Robert spent more than 16 years of his professional career in the US working as an attorney with Kirkland & Ellis LLP. During his time with the firm he worked on private equity and real estate transactions as a part of US domestic and cross-border M&A transactions on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and major private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Robert has also worked for EY, in both their New York and Chicago offices, and for UBS in Luxembourg.
Robert is a member of the Advisory Board to The Center for Real Estate Law of The John Marshall Law School, corporate secretary of the executive board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg and member of its Legal Committee and Corporate Services Committee and is a past co-chair of the ALFI (Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry) REIF (Real Estate Investment Funds) Publications Working Group.
