HSBC appoints new Chief Risk Officer for Channel Islands and Isle of Man

HSBC has appointed Steve Beddow as Chief Risk Officer in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Having joined the HSBC Group in 2001, Steve has held a variety of ‘front-line’ and risk roles in Retail Banking and Wealth Management, and Commercial Banking, in locations including Canada, France, Dubai and Mexico. Before taking on his position in Jersey, Steve was Chief Risk Officer for HSBC Private Bank in Monaco.

Commenting on his new role in Jersey, Steve said: “Operating and adhering to the highest standards of risk are of paramount importance, not only to protect our customers but also so that we continue to be a highly-trusted bank. Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man are all diverse, vibrant and evolving markets, and I look forward to helping the Bank show its commitment to upholding the highest risk standards across the islands.”
