The Albany/Equiom Junior Open starts this Saturday (8th) The schedule of matches will be -emailed to all competitors. Once again entries were slow coming in and I gather it was the same for the IOMLTA Veteran Closed Championships - we really must persuade competitors to enter early as there is a lot for the referee to do after entries close. Remember we are all volunteers and many officials have full time jobs so running tournaments is done in their spare time. With that thought may I remind all Albany juniors that the IOMLTA Junior Closed Championships will be held at Douglas LTC, Kensington Road from 22 July to 30 July and entries close at 5pm on Thursday 20 July. Entry forms are in our clubhouse and should be e-mailed to iomtennis@manx.net. There are Boys and Girls events for U8, U9, U10, U12 U14, U16, U18 singles plus doubles. Further information from Referee, Paul Jarvis by e-mail as above or mob 494045.. So please represent your club and enter early.
Will all Albany juniors and Mini Tennis members please join the British Tennis Membership scheme. It is free, there are benefits and you should have a membership number and LTA rating.
Also on Saturday 22 July there will be an Open Day at Albany with fun social tennis for anyone interested in having a game. We can provide racquets and tennis balls if you are thinking of starting to play or returning to the game. There will be a BBQ. Further details fom Social Secretary, Kirsten Hall on social@albanyltc.
