Only a handful of Junior archers turned up on Sunday at Greeba. They shot a Short Metric round according to their age groups as practice ahead of next week’s Junior Championships. It was a little cold and blustery to start with conditions improved over the morning.
Joseph Reaney, Toby Young and James Hill shot a Short Metric II (three dozen arrows at each of two distances 40 & 30m). Toby Young easily out-classed his fellow archers and romped home over 100 points ahead of his nearest rival. Joseph Reaney struggled with the breezy conditions but settled down over the second distance to take second place. James Hill finished in third, a number of misses costing him dearly.
Nathan Kinrade shot a Short Metric IV (same number of arrows as above but at 20 & 10m). He put in an excellent round to add 21 points to his pb.
Results: Short Metric II – 1.T.Young 72/551/8/3, 2.J.Reaney 71/443/2/1, 3.J.Hill 66/405/3/0pb. Short Metric IV – N.Kinrade 72/613/11/8pb.
