Leading offshore law firm Appleby continues to grow with the appointment of four new Associates at its Isle of Man office.
Lorcan O’Mahony and Ruth Costain, who both joined the firm three years ago as trainees, have now qualified and will continue their careers with Appleby, joining the Dispute Resolution department as Associates.
Lorcan has experience in wide ranging aspects of Isle of Man law and commerce, with particular focus on personal injury, public tenancy matters and debt recovery. Ruth has a broad knowledge of insurance disputes and experience of probate applications, commercial property transactions and commercial matters.
Alongside Lorcan and Ruth, new recruit Paul Gallagher joins the expanding Dispute Resolution team.
Paul is a Scottish solicitor with a background in accountancy and management consultancy as well as experience of corporate insolvency, arbitrations, shareholder disputes and debt recovery.
Christopher Brown joins the Corporate department having previously worked as a solicitor in England and Wales. Originally from the Isle of Man, Christopher joins the team from a US law firm operating in the UK where he gained experience in real estate finance, general corporate financing, acquisition, structuring and insolvency.
Faye Moffett, Appleby Isle of Man Managing Partner, said: “Appointing new Associates is central to Appleby’s desire to help develop young talent. It’s great to see Lorcan and Ruth continue with us, having trained here for their professional qualifications, but we are also delighted to welcome some new faces. I am looking forward to seeing each of them develop as lawyers and to working with them to maintain our outstanding global reputation for delivering first class legal services.”
Christopher Cope, Partner and Group Head of the Dispute Resolution department, added: “I'd like to congratulate our new Associates, who bring a range of experiences and skills and their appointments further strengthen our already talented team. I'm sure they will each be a real asset to Appleby.”
The Associates join Appleby at an exciting time as the company celebrates being the Official Law Firm of the 35th America’s Cup, the international sailing competition hosted in Bermuda in May and June 2017.
