Applications will soon close for a marketing apprenticeship position being offered by leading offshore law firm Appleby.
The apprenticeship scheme has been developed in conjunction with the Department of Economic Development and The Marketing Partnership. It will give young adults who are interested in pursuing a career in marketing hands-on experience working closely with an operational marketing team while at the same time working towards their Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Foundation Certificate in Marketing.
Applications for the position with Appleby close Friday 16 June. The apprenticeship is open to all school leavers, university graduates and young adults looking to take their first step onto the career ladder.
In July the chosen candidate will begin a one-year paid placement in Appleby’s office in Athol Street, Douglas. They will spend four days working in Appleby’s marketing department building experience and learning from experienced team members. One day a week will be given for studying toward the CIM Certificate in Marketing at Level 3 and 4.
Kezia Lightfoot, Marketing & Business Development Manager at Appleby’s Isle of Man office, said: “The successful candidate will join our busy marketing team, which supports the business development and promotion of Appleby not just in the Isle of Man, but across the multiple jurisdictions which Appleby operates in. It will be a chance to develop new skills and build knowledge which will help throughout their career.
“It’s a very varied role. Just some of the areas where the candidate will assist include events, promotional campaigns, social media, business development and sponsorships.”
Helen Pitchford, Marketing Director at Appleby, added: “This apprenticeship offers young people from the Isle of Man the chance to work in a global team which operates across 10 offshore jurisdictions while continuing their education in the Island. It’s a very exciting time to join our team as we celebrate our role as the Official Law Firm of the 35th America’s Cup, a high profile sailing competition held in Bermuda which attracts interest globally as the oldest trophy in international sport.”
