Change of Helm in Port St Mary

by isleofman.com 26th May 2017
Port St Mary Commissioners have elected a new Chairman for the first time in six years.

Since 2012 Mrs Bernadette Williams (formerly McCabe) has been Chairman on the Board.

The new Chairman, Mr Alan Grace, has spent the vast majority of his life in the Port, only leaving to live in Douglas for a short time. Now retired, Mr Grace worked previously within the construction industry and as a college lecturer. Since 2014 he has been Chairman of the Southern Civic Amenity Site Board, a position he has recently relinquished.

On taking over Mr Grace said: “This is a privilege to be elected to Chair the Board of Commissioners in my home Port. I set out to ensure that the Port continues to present well for the benefit of all those who live, work or visit here. I am grateful to my fellow Board members who have shown confidence in me.”
