He was a founding member of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission’s MLRO forum.
James joins the KPMG Advisory team, which he describes as “formidable”, to focus on regulatory, compliance and risk consultancy. “My many years on the front line dealing with compliance and risk management give me a unique perspective as to the practical challenges faced by our clients, which I am keen to share,” he says.
“As the legal, regulatory and risk-based environment is forever changing, it is imperative that businesses that wish to survive maximise the practical and commercial value-added guidance they can obtain from third party advisors.
“Challenges such as the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation illustrate where appropriate independent practical advice can create opportunities to reduce duplication and costs while achieving necessary level of compliance.”
Micky Swindale, KPMG Head of Advisory for the Isle of Man and Gibraltar, added: “James is very well respected within the compliance and risk industry and is a natural fit for our hardworking and dedicated Advisory team.
“He has extensive experience of providing practical, highly relevant and timely commercial guidance to businesses of all different sizes. James’ knowledge and down to earth approach will be appreciated both by his colleagues and KPMG clients who are facing evolving regulatory challenge.”
