Isle of Man based telecoms company plan.com is officially the fastest-growing business provider in the UK. The growth is extraordinary particularly within such a competitive sector. The company was established 3 years ago and has already created nearly 70 jobs on the Island (more in the UK) and won multiple industry awards.
This Tuesday was a landmark day for the company. Eight new faces were welcomed to the team but in typical plan.com style the welcome was far from average.
The intake of new sales professionals meant the company’s existing HQ was simply not big enough to house the growing team. Both the new and existing team were surprised with a new office within IOMA House in Hope Street when they arrived for work after the long weekend. A challenge for the management…..
Project Co-ordinator Dan Corney said, “We don’t do anything in half measure at plan.com and we decided that we would surprise everyone with the new office space. We had a select team working intensively over the long weekend to ensure that the new space reflects company values – cool, fun and funky. Everyone was suitability impressed with unique decor and technology throughout.”
When it comes to fun, the new and existing team kicked off the working week with a breakfast beach party – including an indoor bbq. The party continued with a DJ centrally resident in the office, a steady flow of Prosecco and beer, followed by mountains of pizza come lunchtime. The festivities continued well into the evening. The new recruits loved every minute of their new work culture. Nick Verardi, director, said “we are all very excited – not just about the new office and the company’s growth, but by the fact we’re all having a lot of fun on this journey together.”
Adrian Robinson, Head of Marketing, added “The team left work as normal on Thursday evening to enjoy their Easter break and were stunned on Tuesday morning when they were led to their new their new larger, cooler office – the party antics were an added bonus. We work hard but play harder”.
