Microgaming Play It Forward supports a unique event on the Island for the local children’s hospice

by isleofman.com 18th April 2017

Rebecca House, the children’s hospice is marking 10 years of children’s palliative care on the Island at their wing of Hospice Isle of Man. Rebecca House currently provides children’s palliative care to 32 families. One of their fun events is the first ever bubble rush on the Isle of Man.

The charity is thrilled that local e-gaming software company Microgaming has confirmed its continued support of the local community by getting involved with this fun event, through their Play It Forward initiative.

This amazing event will be held on Saturday 1st July 2017 between 11am-4pm and will involve either a 1.5km or 3km run, job, walk, skip, be pushed or dance through a shower of brightly coloured bubbles.

The event is a guaranteed family fun day with music, stalls and bouncy castles at the venue. This fabulous event will be held at Mooragh Park in Ramsey beside the Rugby club. Hospice would like to thank Ramsey Commissioners and Ramsey Rugby club for their support with this initiative.

During April there are discounted early bird tickets available. Please register online at www.hospice.org.im. Places will be restricted to waves to ensure all ‘bubblers’ get the most out of their colourful experience.

From 1st May tickets will be ?20 for adults, ?10 for children under 16 or ?50 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children). Under 3’s (in or out of a pushchair) are free. Wheelchair users can also be pushed through the bubbles. Every entry will receive a bubble rush t-shirt and medal.

Events Manager for Hospice, Sharon Connor said: “We are so excited to be bringing this event to the Island, not only is it a first for the Isle of Man, it is an inclusive event with all ages being able to enjoy the fun of running or walking through all these coloured bubbles.”

“We are very grateful to have Microgaming on board to support this event as it maximizes the funds raised, ensuring as much money as possible can go to support our patients and their families.”

“85p of every pound raised goes directly to patients so their support makes a massive real impact on people when they need most it in our compassionate community.”

Claire Coleman, Head of Microgaming Play It Forward, added: “Bubble Rush is a fantastic fun run event that everyone can get involved in, irrespective of age and sporting ability. And with Play It Forward being a community-driven initiative, this is the perfect event for us to be supporting. Here at MGS House we can’t wait to get involved!”

Microgaming are also continuing their colourful support of the charity by sponsoring a Colour Me Rainbow station at the event scheduled prior to the Douglas Carnival on Sunday 16th July on Douglas Promenade at 2.30pm.

Tickets for both events are available by visiting www.hospice.org.im.
