Tribute paid to Mike Fayle

by isleofman.com 13th April 2017

Tony Pass, the Chairman of the Manx Museum and National Trust pays tribute to his late colleague, Mike Fayle who sadly passed away on 1st April:

Mike Fayle was the long-standing Chairman of the Friends of Manx National Heritage and the best of our friends at the Museum. Aside from his business responsibilities as head of KPMG, he had a keen interest in the heritage and artistic culture of the land of his family.
His judgement was invariably sound and he was ready to give freely of his advice and help with the business of the Manx Museum.

During his tenure as chairman, the Friends gave their unstinting support, providing funding and volunteers for many of our acquisitions and projects.

Despite a long illness, which he faced with tremendous stoicism, he continued to be accessible and in control to the end. He was a modest and self-effacing leader and I believe he would have been astonished at the expressions of respect and love which have followed his untimely death.
