MTG strengthens its technical solutions division

by isleofman.com 4th April 2017

Manx Technology Group (MTG), a leading technology solutions provider headquartered in the Isle of Man, has acquired Omnitec, an IT services provider and hardware reseller.

The acquisition enhances MTG’s already strong technical service capabilities and its deep industry experience in financial services, e-Gaming, manufacturing and healthcare. The addition of Omnitec to the Group allows MTG to meet the growing customer demand for end to end technology solutions.

Chris Glover, Managing Director of Omnitec commented:

By joining the Manx Technology Group, Omnitec becomes part of a group with a shared vision to provide the highest quality service. It also unlocks the potential for our team to develop their skills further and for our customers to access a complete range of technology solutions that can help their own businesses grow.

Joe Hughes, CEO commented:

We have worked hard to build a strong team at MTG, Omnitec’s considerable experience in the industry and their well-regarded team of talented engineers are a real asset to the Group. Omnitec joining the Group not only enhances our capabilities but it will create new possibilities for MTG and Omnitec customers.

The deal comes at a time when Joe has seen a change in the way businesses procure IT services:

We believe customer demand is shifting; those organisations who have genuine expertise in systems, networks, software and emerging technologies such as data analytics, IoT and AI – are no longer seen as just IT providers, but complete technology partners. Forging these types of customer partnerships and ensuring the Group employs the best talent has proven pivotal to our continued growth.

The acquisition is a step forward in MTG’s growth strategy and further solidifies their position as the Isle of Man’s leading technology services provider. As part of this group-wide strategy MTG is also in talks with technology providers in the UK, Jersey and Ireland with a view to continuing its expansion into these markets. The Isle of Man has a reputation as an international business centre and it is for this reason the Group believes the Island is an ideal springboard into new jurisdictions.
