Isle of Man Events, one of the Island’s leading conference, events and holiday experience companies has unveiled its new office headquarters, as part of a major expansion drive for 2017.
The business, which handles the travel and accommodation arrangements for some of the Island’s major motorsport events, like Rally Isle of Man and The Manx National, has relocated to new offices in Onchan’s Village Walk.
The move is designed to create retail frontage, making Isle of Man Events more accessible to clients.
Director Sally Helwich said the relocation from Duke Street, Douglas to larger, more customer focussed premises was in response to an urgent requirement for more space, associated with a surge in new business activity.
“2017 is shaping up to be an incredibly busy and exciting year and there is much work to be done,” said Sally. “Our focus is on being the number one Isle of Man based tour operator - the “go to holiday people” who can be relied upon to meet and exceed the expectations of the numerous tourists who come to holiday on the Island each year.
“That means we need to be more accessible. After many years of being rather tucked away in upstairs offices, the time was overdue to find a new HQ,” added Sally. “Onchan’s Village Walk offers spacious ground floor accommodation, which is great for our staff and ideal for clients calling in. It’s also extremely convenient for parking, which is a big plus.”
Established in 2009, Isle of Man Events handles travel, accommodation and tour bookings for many of the Isle of Man’s highest profile sports events. As well as its strong connections with international two and four-wheeled motorsport, the business will be supplying travel and accommodation packages for cycling’s prestigious 2017 HSBC National Road Racing championship, which takes places here in June. In addition, Isle of Man Events has long been associated with the annual IOM Darts Festival, one of the largest of its kind in the UK.
As well as playing a key role in all manner of Island-based cycling, walking and marine based activity holidays, along with large scale business seminars and bespoke wedding guest packages, the company also tailors its services to general visitors who come to explore the Island’s many attractions.
“We seem to be in greater demand than ever,” added Sally. “As long as people want to keep coming to the Isle of Man – and clearly they do in growing numbers - then Isle of Man Events will be open for business.
