Loganair to link Scotland's capital with the Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 31st March 2017
Loganair, Scotland’s Airline, has announced it is to re-introduce services between Edinburgh and the Isle of Man.

The new service will take off on Friday 26 May, operating up to four flights each week throughout the summer on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Friday and Monday services will continue into the winter season, with fares starting from just ?54.99 including a free-of-charge 20kg checked baggage allowance.

Loganair’s will operate under its franchise agreement with Flybe – with bookings taken via www.flybe.com – until 31 August 2017.

From 1 September, Scotland’s Airline will be flying in its own right and the new Isle of Man route is currently bookable – alongside Loganair’s extensive route network in Scotland and beyond – via its new reservations system at www.loganair.co.uk  and call centre on 0344 800 2855.

The new Edinburgh-Isle of Man service follows the recent closure of Manx-based ticket provider Citywing, reducing connections between the Isle of Man and Scotland.

Loganair’s schedule is carefully designed to appeal to leisure travellers enjoying world-famous Isle of Man TT events or visiting friends and relatives. It will also provide additional options for business travellers or passengers commuting between the two points.

Jonathan Hinkles, Loganair’s Managing Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be returning to the Isle of Man after an absence of nearly four years.   Our new Edinburgh service will provide much-needed weekend flights between Scotland and the island.”

“Lead-in prices will start at just ?54.99 and we’ll be offering up to 90% of our seats for under ?100 one way - distinctly more affordable for customers travelling to the Isle of Man than from any other airport in Scotland.”

Gordon Dewar, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief executive said: “This is a really smart move by Loganair and I have every confidence that it will prove to be a popular service for holiday and business travellers between Scotland and the Isle of Man.”

The new route will also provide onward connections at Edinburgh to points within Loganair’s extensive route network in the Highlands and Islands including Kirkwall, Sumburgh and Stornoway. This will enable customers to make a single booking from any of these airports to the Isle of Man- saving money and alongside adding convenience to travel arrangements.
