Isle of Man Archery Club Report - March 26th

by isleofman.com 29th March 2017

Only a handful of archers turned up for the final Indoor shoot of the season. The round of the day was a Portsmouth.

Rhys Moore once again dominated the Gents Compound division but there was an upset as Simon Musgrove just edged out Dave Moore for second place. The Outdoor season looks like it might be interesting.

Danny Cowin had an easy win over Carl Moon in the Gents Recurve, while Colin Moore put in another excellent round in the Gents Barebow.

Joy Gough recorded another solid score in the Ladies Compound.

The freshly painted Hall at Onchan looked wonderful but smelt dreadful. The paint fumes combined with excellent weather prompted Rhys, Dave and Joy, together with Barbara Harris who turned up for the afternoon session, to remove themselves to Greeba to get some sight marks ahead of the Outdoor season.

The weather was glorious and good progress was made by the archers. Fingers crossed for decent weather for the rest of the season.
Results: Portsmouth – Gents Compound – 1. R.Moore 60/583/43, 2. S.Musgrove 60/574/34, 3. D.Moore 60/570/30. Gents Recurve – 1. D.Cowin 60/551/26, 2. C.Moon  60/516/12. Gents Barebow – C.Moore 60/501/12. Ladies Compound – J.Gough 60/550/12.
