A senior delegation from Zurich International Life (ZIL) has toured the firm’s new offices which are nearing completion on the Isle of Man Business Park.
Award-winning developer Dandara is constructing ZIL’s new premises and hosted the visit by a group of company representatives headed by Chief Executive Office Clive Baker. He was joined by Isle of Man-based senior management and members of Zurich’s off-Island Corporate Real Estate team.
Dandara Commercial Director David Thomas and the developer’s project management team conducted the tour of the three-storey office building, outlining the current progress, explaining the layout and familiarising ZIL representatives with the space.
The bespoke development was designed to meet ZIL’s thorough brief, to create a state-of-the-art facility. It will be the first major Isle of Man office development to be completed to Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM), a demanding sustainability assessment process for master planning construction projects to promote long-term sustainability of buildings and promote low-impact design, reduction of carbon emissions and protection of ecological value.
Dandara’s work on the site has been highly praised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, an industry-leading body, which highlighted ‘excellent’ and ‘exceptional’ standards following an independent inspection late last year.
Mr Thomas said: ‘This has been a fascinating project and the finished building will be the result of a close working relationship with ZIL to ensure its needs, and those of its workforce, are met and exceeded.
‘We were pleased to welcome Mr Baker and his team to the site to show how the designs have become reality, as well as letting them develop a familiarisation with the new space and progress plans for how the new office building will be utilised.
‘We’re on track to hand over the building ahead of schedule and look forward to welcoming the ZIL team to the Isle of Man Business Park.’
Mr Baker added: ‘It is great to see construction progressing at such a swift pace, and we are looking forward to relocating later in 2017. The move will allow us to embrace the concept of FlexWork, leveraging space and technology to empower our people to optimise where, when and how they work, with maximum flexibility and minimum constraints.
‘It will enable our people to work in ways which best suit their needs, and I am confident it will be a space that our employees will really enjoy working in.’
