Leading trust and corporate services provider Equiom has been named silver winner of ‘Company of the Year’ in the Female Leadership (Large, Institutional) category at the Powerwomen Awards. Sheila Dean then went on to pick up the silver award for ‘Woman of the Year’ in the Business Growth category, a first for the Global CEO. The win comes just weeks after the company’s success at the Citywealth IFC Awards, where Equiom was named Trust Company of the Year in three of its jurisdictions.
The Powerwomen Awards, which champions women in the wealth sector, was held last night at London’s Rosewood Hotel and saw Equiom go head to head with other renowned service providers and respected female leaders.
Representing Equiom at the well-attended event were Sheila Dean, Global CEO, Nicola Gott, Managing Director of Equiom Jersey, Nina Johnston, Director of Client Services for Equiom Isle of Man, Caroline Ashley, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Alice Dumoitier, Director of Client Services for Equiom Jersey. Equiom’s table also hosted guests from Gowling WLG, Collas Crill and Deloitte.
Sheila said of the ceremony: ‘The Powerwomen Awards is always a fantastic event, bringing successful women and companies together across the breadth of the wealth sector. As ever, the competition was tough and I’m extremely proud of our silver wins in both categories. I’ll always be a supporter of platforms that highlight the excellent female leaders in our industry and the Powerwomen Awards does just that.
Female directors make up a large percentage of Equiom’s various boards across its global offices. This has occurred naturally over the years through both direct recruitment and acquisitions, and is a testament to our focus on achieving the right balance of skills, knowledge, philosophy and experience in our teams, regardless of gender.’
The Powerwomen Awards were established in 2014 to highlight the female leaders of today and tomorrow, honouring exceptional individuals and companies in the private wealth industry. The winners were selected by a panel of industry expert judges from various financial, fiduciary and advisory backgrounds.
