A lawyer from leading offshore legal firm Appleby has been appointed Chairman of the Isle of Man Wealth and Fund Services Association.
Andrew Harding, who joined Appleby in 2005, is Counsel in the Corporate Department in Appleby’s Isle of Man office and specialises in insolvency and restructuring of investment funds.
The Isle of Man Wealth and Fund Services Association was established in 1987 to act as a link between the government, regulators and funds specialists to support the industry in the Island.
As Chairman of the Association Andrew will represent the Isle of Man’s wealth and funds administration industry and liaise with government on financial service initiatives.
Andrew said: “I am honoured to be appointed Chairman of the Isle of Man Wealth and Funds Services Association and look forward to continue promoting the Isle of Man as a stable and well-regulated financial centre.
“We have a really diverse membership of more than 50 representatives from the sector, including fund managers, corporate service providers, stockbrokers and lawyers; I’m eager to work alongside our peers to see the industry flourish.
“My experience working in an international law firm like Appleby will be invaluable during my chairmanship of the Association.”
