More than 40 VIP guests helped the Sefton Express celebrate its 10th anniversary at a recent event held at the hotel in Ballasalla.
The 33-bedroom property first opened its doors on 19 January 2007 on the Ronaldsway Industrial Estate to fill a gap in the market not only for an airport hotel, but also a hotel for the South of the Island. In the last ten years, staff have welcomed more than 80,000 guests through their doors.
As well as being popular with Isle of Man residents wishing to stay there ahead of a red-eye flight, the Sefton Express is a popular choice with the thousands of bookers who visit the Island’s motorsport events over the year including the Castletown-based Southern 100, and also has a strong corporate customer base through the many businesses headquartered in the South of the Island. In addition, its Boardroom facility makes it popular for daytime business meeting use.
Geoff Corkish MLC attended the hotel’s opening in 2007 and its fifth anniversary event, and so was invited to address guests at the Express’s tenth anniversary ‘Prosecco and Canape’ celebration. He spoke alongside Sefton Group Chairman, Clive Parrish, who commented:
“The Sefton Express is an important part of the Sefton Group and its accommodation proposition, and I am delighted that the hotel continues to go from strength to strength as it celebrates such a landmark birthday. The Express plays an important part in the tourism and leisure market locally, and is an important employer in the south of the Island. I would like to thank all of the 80,000 people who have chosen to stay with us since the hotel first opened to the public, and look forward to us extending a warm Manx welcome to thousands more over the next ten years and beyond.”
