SMP Partners, one of the Isle of Man’s leading international corporate and trust service providers, has added to its rapidly growing international footprint with the opening of a new office in Jersey.
Recently granted a corporate and trust services licence by the Jersey Financial Supervision Commission (JFSC), SMP’s expansion signals a new chapter for the highly renowned international Group and a further diversification of its service offering.
Mark Denton, Managing Director of SMP Partners, said: ‘Establishing an office in Jersey is another significant development for the Group as we continue to grow our presence in key jurisdictions around the world. Jersey, like the Isle of Man, is a highly regarded financial centre and the opening of an office there has been in our sights for some time.
‘While our Jersey business will serve the broad corporate and trust requirements of our clients and contacts, our initial focus will be on leveraging our acclaimed international expertise in eGaming. With its eGaming regulation now in place and a pipeline of business already established, Jersey has become an important jurisdiction for our rapidly growing gaming division and we see real opportunity to build a significant presence in that market.
‘The expansion will help us to further diversify our business and revenues, as well as creating additional career opportunities for our colleagues.’
Katy Stopford will relocate from the gaming division of SMP Partners’ Isle of Man office to Jersey to lead the establishment of the new office and manage key relationships.
Katy said: ‘Expansion into the Channel Islands is a great opportunity for SMP Partners and its clients, as well as for me personally. I’m looking forward to developing relationships with our contacts in Jersey and continuing to work closely with my colleagues throughout the Group as we develop our presence there. It is an exciting time for the business and I’m delighted to be leading the establishment of our Jersey office.’
