Simcocks Director, Christopher Arrowsmith, has won the title of ‘Litigation and Dispute Resolution – Lawyer of the Year - Isle of Man’ following a recent shortlist nomination for the Lawyer Monthly Private Client Awards 2016.
The Awards recognises the achievements of lawyers, financial advisors, tax advisors, trust advisors, accountants and specialist private client advisory firms who have a proven track record in delivering results for their clients over the past twelve months.
They are divided into individual and firm categories selected to represent the diversity of skills and knowledge that the profession has to offer clients across the globe.
After many months spent conducting research and analysing voting data, Christopher was declared the outright winner by Lawyer Monthly. The voting process takes into account the level of expertise, people management skills, understanding of foreign and emerging markets and negotiating skills.
Christopher has also recently received high praise from Legal 500 who have previously described him as "one of the best, if not the best on the Island, and a match for anyone at the London Bar."
Acknowledging his impressive win, Christopher said: “I am thrilled to have won this award which follows the Department win in the Corporate LiveWire Global Awards in May 2016. Simcocks has a reputation for finding creative and cost-effective solutions to achieve an early settlement to problems of any size, and this is down to our specialist knowledge and commercial awareness."
Based in Ridgeway Street, Douglas, Simcocks provide an extensive range of legal services broadly grouped into the areas of dispute resolution, corporate and commercial and private client.
The Dispute Resolution team, led by Christopher, specialise in international corporate and commercial litigation and has an impressive track record dealing in high value multi-jurisdictional disputes. The team’s technical knowledge generates many referrals as they possess considerable experience dealing with a range of commercial disputes with particular emphasis on trust and shareholder matters, emergency injunctive and discovery remedies and judicial review applications.
