Albany Lawn Tennis News

by isleofman.com 4th January 2017

Happy New Year to ALL our members - new and long serving - young and not so young, and all our sponsors and supporters.  We had a good year in 2016 with our celebration dinner and visit of the President of the LTA, Mrs Cathie Sabin, tombola, our juniors receiving IOMLTA awards and a generally busy time at the club.

I hope this year can follow a similar pattern but most of all that everyone enjoys being a member at Albany.  Our membership Secretary and I are starting a new project and we would welcome your help. The club lounge can be hired out for meetings, fund raisers (for any charity), parties etc. However it does need a new carpet! The current one is 16yrs old and we are organising a fund raiser "Buy a Carpet Tile". More details later.

A reminder to all our juniors - coaching re-starts from this Saturday at 12 noon. Turn up at your usual time unless you have been moved to a later group. There are a few places available for the 4 - 7yr olds. Ring me (861497) or Ian Watson (496293) for more details. The first three sessions are free but if continued then children are required to become a member.

The committee is starting a campaign to make sure ALL our members have a British Tennis membership. This is free, can be done on the LTA website and has many benefits eg tickets available for various pro tournaments.
