Two senior executives from leading fiduciary and administration services provider Estera have been named among the 50 most influential people in the private client sector of the UK and Crown Dependencies.
The 50 Most Influential 2017 list was drawn up by respected private client practice news service eprivateclient, a highly regarded resource for sector updates and information used by lawyers, accountants, trustees and IFAs.
Explaining the process for inclusion on the list, eprivateclient’s publisher PAM Insight said: ‘In selecting the 50 Most Influential, the quality and quantity of nominations were considered. Factors such as the nominee’s position, achievements, career progression and who made the nomination were taken into account. These, along with PAM Insight’s knowledge of the sector, were used to draw up the definitive list of those deemed to be at the forefront of shaping private client work.’
Estera CEO Farah Ballands and Group Director Richard Prosser both feature on the list.
eprivateclient says of Farah: ‘She oversees the group’s fiduciary, administration and accounting practices in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Shanghai. She has experience as a lawyer and has previously specialised in the implementation and administration of corporate benefit arrangements, with extensive knowledge of the use of offshore trust and corporate structures.’
Describing Richard, eprivateclient adds: ‘He has been involved in the financial services industry in Jersey for over 30 years and has extensive experience in dealing with offshore structures for high net worth families based throughout the world. He travels extensively to meet with settlors and beneficiaries. He is on the board of a number of companies quoted in London and elsewhere, including property companies and investment management companies. Richard is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Institute of Directors.’
Estera, which was established following the management buyout of Appleby’s fiduciary business in December 2015, employs more than 350 people across 10 offshore jurisdictions, including more than 50 at its Isle of Man office in Douglas.
Isle of Man-based Estera Group Director Sean Dowling said: ‘Farah and Richard’s inclusion among the 50 most influential people in the private client sector is well-deserved recognition of their professionalism and expertise, as well as further acknowledgement of how firmly established Estera has become as a market-leading provider of fiduciary and administration services around the world.’
