IoM Archery Club Report October 2nd

by isleofman.com 4th October 2016

The new Indoor season got underway at Onchan on Sunday with a Portsmouth round. The largest of the indoor target faces the Portsmouth gives everyone chance to ease back into the swing of things.

In the Gents Recurve, Danny Cowin and Josh Trafford were neck and neck with Danny taking the win by just 2 points. Tony Hartley came in third with Matt Elliot adding 15 points to his pb to finish fourth.

Denyse Hill was the only Lady Recurve in evidence and put in a solid score.

In the Gents Compound division Rhys Moore carried his dominant Outdoor form Indoors to take the win. Billy Lightfoot just pipped Dave Moore by 2 points to take second place. Colin Moore finished fourth and Pete Mumford brought up the rear.

Once again Joy Gough was the only competitor in the Ladies Compound division and put in a good score after injury forced her to cut short her Outdoor season.

In the Junior Gents Recurve James Hill seemed to be having an off day and had to be content with third place. Jacob Brooks added an impressive 73 points to his pb for the round but had to settle for second place behind Toby Young, who added 14 points to his pb to take the win.
