For the third year running, Microgaming has won Digital Product of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards. It was awarded for Quickfire, an innovative, multi-operator platform.
The 2016 Global Gaming Awards were held on the 26th September 2016 at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center, Las Vegas. The Global Gaming Awards celebrate the year’s triumphs in digital and land-based gaming, with 12 awards to recognise industry achievements. A panel of 60 expert judges cast their vote to decide the winners.
On presenting Microgaming with the Digital Product of the Year award, Gambling Insider Editor Alex Hammond said, “Congratulations to Microgaming, one of the biggest names in the digital supply industry who has once again had a tremendous year, spearheaded by this year’s digital product of the year, Quickfire.”
In a highly competitive category, the judges praised the impact that Quickfire had made in the digital gaming industry as a whole in 2016. The platform supports Microgaming’s casino, poker, bingo, multiplayer, mobile and live dealer software. Available in multiple jurisdictions, Quickfire is enjoying its best year yet in 2016, providing 400+ online brands with access to 600+ Microgaming and development partner games. In January, Microgaming also released Quickfire iQ, an intelligent game management module that puts operators in control of free games, multipliers, achievements, incentives and more.
Andrew Clucas, Director of Quickfire, comments: “This win highlights the incredible progress of Quickfire since launching in 2010. The platform has emerged as the product of choice for operators who require immediate access to the best online gaming content from Microgaming and select development partners. It’s great to see the industry celebrate the content, flexibility and innovation of Quickfire.”
Capping a great night for Microgaming, the MPN’s Babelfish API was named runner-up in the Digital Gaming Innovation category. Unique to the poker industry, the API sits between the MPN poker engine and client-facing interfaces, enabling third-party poker game clients to integrate with MPN servers and back-end systems. Babelfish brings more variety to the MPN, which has achieved month-on-month growth over the past year to become the biggest B2B poker network in the world.
