The Association of Corporate Service Providers has arranged a seminar on Tuesday October 18 with Leanne McKeown of DQ Advocates who will speak on ‘Employment Law Developments – Equality and Whistleblowing’.
Sponsored by DQ Advocates the session will provide an overview of the implications for employers of the Equality Bill 2016, due to be laid before the House of Keys in October.
Drawing on case law examples from the UK and further afield Ms McKeown will explain how the law has been applied and what employers in the Isle of Man can expect, notably in relation to the Disability Discrimination Act 2006. She will offer practical advice on what action to take then proceed to outline forthcoming changes to the FSA Rule Book and how regulated entities should put in place a free-standing whistle-blowing policy.
The seminar will be at the Upper Hall, Loch Promenade Church, Douglas and be immediately preceded by the Annual General Meeting of the ACSP.
Registration will be at 12noon for a 12.30pm prompt start. Subject to the number of questions and contributions from the audience the session is expected to finish around 1.30pm.
The seminar is free to staff of member firms and associate members of the ACSP.
