by isleofman.com 31st August 2016

Grant Thornton is one of the 50 ‘World’s Most Attractive Global Employers’ according to the Universum Talent Survey of more than 270,000 business and engineering students from 12 of the world’s largest economies.

The company, which has offices in Douglas and Ramsey, moved up three spots in the 2016 survey to number 34. The rankings are based on the opinions of business and engineering students from top universities in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, UK and the US, markets which represent 70 per cent of the world’s economy. The survey was conducted between September 2015 and April 2016.

Ed Nusbaum, Grant Thornton’s global Chief Executive Officer said: ‘We are very proud of the culture that our 43,000 people in more than 130 countries have created and which is being recognised by this award. At Grant Thornton, we are committed to a distinctive and differentiated work environment where our people feel motivated, inspired and trusted. We want people to love working here.’

Dennis McGurgan, Managing Director of Grant Thornton in the Isle of Man, added: ‘As this award recognises, Grant Thornton is well known as a great place to work with a positive and encouraging atmosphere. It is that reputation which has enabled us to recruit the highest quality candidates and allowed us to make nine appointments and promotions in our Isle of Man offices, at both senior and junior levels, in recent months.’

The survey was conducted by employer branding firm Universum, which advises leading employers to better understand, attract and recruit talent, and conducts surveys of more than 1.5 million students and professionals worldwide every year.
