KPMG is delighted to announce their 7th annual Isle of Man eGaming Summit taking place on the 8th September. Held at the Villa Marina and beginning at 9am, the event will feature 30+ expert speakers and panellists from the world of eGaming. A full day’s programme of talks and panel sessions covering a wide range of topics is on offer, including the Isle of Man’s proposition for eGaming post-Brexit, the Top 10 Risks for Gaming operators, recent Mergers & Acquisitions commentary and predictions, Technology Developments and the upcoming implementation of the new National Online Self-Exclusion Scheme (NOSES) scheme by the Remote Gambling Association (RGA).
The summit marks KPMG’s 13th in a series of eSummits across the Isle of Man and Gibraltar over the last 6 years. Having established such a strong foundation in this target industry, it’s not surprising that the event continues to attract high calibre speakers and panellists. It’s very timely, as explained by KPMG’s Director of Advisory, Micky Swindale: “Our Isle of Man Summit comes at a particularly busy time for the industry, with a great deal of M&A activity, the processing of the possible impacts of Brexit, and of course the introduction of a National Online Self-Exclusion Scheme (NOSES) - KPMG are delighted to be working with the RGA on what we see as a fantastic opportunity for the industry to work together to put in place a customer-focused, user-friendly system to help ensure gambling online is a positive and pleasurable leisure past-time. This year we’re looking forward to welcoming new faces from the UK, such as Fiona Palmer (Head of Compliance and Social Responsibility at Sky Betting & Gaming), Simon French (Gaming Analyst at Cenkos), Paul Richardson (Head of M&A at Rank) as well as lots of old friends from operators, service providers and the IMGL, whose masterclasses are a great addition to our summit offering. In addition we say a fond farewell to Chief Minister Allan Bell, who opened our first summit in 2010, and thank him for his ongoing contribution and support to the sector. We’re looking forward to a stimulating day.”
After a Wake-Up Breakfast and the Opening Address, delegates will enter a packed programme of speakers, panels and masterclasses on the market view of the sector and its M&A activity, key risks and opportunities for operators and the Isle of Man post-Brexit, and regulatory developments, particularly regarding self-exclusion, data protection and AML. Trending on the very latest product news, there will be a post-lunch Pitch on New Games and Approaches, as well as a presentation by Errol Larson of Derivco on which technology, AR or VR, will have a greater impact on how people live, work and play. New also to this year’s summit will be workshops in the Broadway cinema, with Featurespace on Data Analytics, KPMG on risk and cyber security, and Derivco giving a hands-on demo of the AR and VR possibilities for operators, using Oculus Rift, Google Glass and AR cards. The workshops offer delegates a chance to work together in smaller groups and really get to grips with the vital issues affecting industry.
Extending into the evening, the official close of the 2016 KPMG eGaming Summit and eClub event at the Palace Casino will kick off at 5:30pm with drinks in Whispers Bar followed by drinks and canapes in the Palace Casino, and a display of casino tournament games with the chance to get involved yourself.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Russell Kelly of KPMG Isle of Man: “eGaming is an incredibly fast-moving and expanding business, and you have to be at the front to really embrace it. The Isle of Man, more than ever, is recognized as one of the most dynamic and reputable jurisdictions in the industry, arguably in an even stronger position following the UK’s Brexit vote. We are ideally placed to host events such as next month’s summit and it’s with great pleasure that we do so again this year. Since its inauguration, the summit has gone from strength to strength and is considered to be one of the biggest occasions in the global eGaming calendar.”
