Dafydd Lewis has been appointed Associate Director, Head of Residential Lettings and Management at Chrystals Estate Agency.
It is a welcome return for Dafydd, who previously worked with Chrystals as a Commercial Agent and Valuer in 2010. He has since broadened his experience in the rentals market with another local estate agency and re-joins Chrystals to oversee the lettings team across its three Island offices and further develop the rental portfolio and management services.
Born in Pembrokeshire in Wales, Dafydd first pursued a career as a professional rugby player as a fly-half with London Wasps. He has represented Wales at international level in rugby union sevens tournaments and also played for Cambridge University while he studied for a Masters Degree in Social Political Science at Hughes Hall College.
A former graduate in Sport Science from Brunel University, he is also a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and holds a Diploma in Surveying Practice from the College of Estate Management.
Dafydd began his career at the Cambridge office of commercial agency Colliers International prior to moving to the Isle of Man. He is married to Jan and has three children.
Commenting on his new role, Dafydd said: “I am looking forward to using my experience within the industry to manage properties for clients as efficiently as possible; that means maximising returns and minimising void periods. I’ve found that enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile can really make a difference to securing a tenant and I’ll be looking at how we can best support our rental team with smooth effective back office services.”
Chrystals Director Neil Taggart added: “We are delighted to welcome Dafydd back to the team. Residential lettings are an important part of our business and Dafydd has developed an expertise that will support our commitment to providing a personal service with excellent levels of client care and a keen understanding of the local market.
“He is passionate about getting the right results for clients and tenants alike. Working with the teams across our three Isle of Man offices, I am sure Dafydd will drive forward our residential rentals portfolio in a market that continues to show growth potential.”
