Congratulations to four Albany Mini Tennis members Jared Shepherd, Ben Leinwand, Ryan Colquitt and Phoebe Davies who represented the Buchan School in the recent Zurich Primary Schools Mini Tennis finals. They won the event beating Ballacottier in the final, whose team was four more Albany Mini Tennis members – Zac Colligon, Gethin Bufton, Hadassah Smith and Henry Leigh. So well done to everyone.
Entry forms have now been circulated to members and clubs for the Chrystals Senior Open tournament which starts on Saturday 30 July. Entries close at 6pm Saturday 23 July and should be sent to Ian Watson (full details are on the form). There are good cash prizes and indoor court vouchers to be won and the singles event will be run on a ratings format. This means that you play someone of your own standard in a group of like ability. Many years ago we held a similar event, at a time when Ratings tournaments were very popular and we had an entry of 84 players in the singles events. It would be so nice to have that number again.!
Finally have you heard our Treasurer, David Bufton, report on his visit to Milan and playing 35 minutes each way, on the “hallowed turf at the Juventus ground, touring the ground, changing rooms as well as dining there. He’s plenty of photos as well. What an experience.
