Albany Tennis Club Latest News

by isleofman.com 23rd June 2016
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen events we have had to arrange the Albany Chrystals Senior for a new date – 30th July to 7th August.  Entry forms will be available by early next week – entries will close at 6pm on Saturday 23rd July.

Entries to be sent to Ian Watson – e-mail ianwatsonpts@manx.net, or post to Fernleigh, Beaumont Road, Ramsey IM8 2HN or you can leave your entry in the white post box in the clubroom. This is a big event with good prizes or indoor court vouchers to be won. The winner of the Men’s and Women’s singles will receive ?50 and, runners-up ?30 and if the entry for these two events is big enough there will also be semi-final prizes. The singles will be run on a ratings format where to start with you only play someone of a similar standard in a separate draw which will be played to a final but with s/finalist progressing to the next draw. There will also be Men’s, Women’s and Mixed doubles. This event is open to players from all Island clubs, visitors and juniors who play yellow ball may also enter. Everyone is welcome and all players will receive a free bottle of water.

Unfortunately we have to cancel the coaching for Saturday and Sunday as Ian is away – taking the island boys 12 & under team to the UK, Sarah is on holiday and Martin and Margaret aren’t available. We certainly all miss Martin at the moment and wish him better health very soon. Coaching will resume on the following Saturday, just prior to the Equiom Junior event starting on the Monday.

Our Club Coach Ian Watson will shortly be announcing dates and times for all the summer camps to be run during the school holiday. Make sure you apply early as spaces will be limited.
