Grant Thornton has announced a series of senior appointments at its Isle of Man office.
Ryan Dernie, Nicola Smith, Robert Todd and Charlotte Clarke have taken on new roles at the firm as it continues to grow its audit business following the 2014 merger with BDO (Isle of Man).
Managing Director Dennis McGurgan said: ‘I am delighted to announce these appointments, which strengthen our team and will further enhance our exceptional service to clients. Each brings outstanding skills and varied experience to their new roles and will contribute significantly to the ongoing expansion of our audit work.’
Ryan, who has been appointed Audit Manager, is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a degree in Accounting, Finance and Economics. He qualified in 2008 and has extensive experience providing audit, accounting and regulatory services to large offshore banks in the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands and Switzerland. His responsibilities include managing and coordinating professional services for a variety of local and international clients.
Nicola, Robert and Charlotte have all been appointed Seniors.
Nicola, also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, began her career in the business services and audit departments of another large local accountancy firm and gained further experience at an Isle of Man-based family office, where she was involved in group financial reporting for a number of companies and trusts. She is primarily focused on accounts work at Grant Thornton
Robert and Charlotte have both been appointed Audit Seniors. Both trained at local accountancy firms, with University of Liverpool graduate Robert qualifying in June last year and Charlotte in 2013. In their new roles Charlotte will be focused chiefly on audit work, while Robert takes on a mixed role of audit and accounting work.
